Talking undefined reference to `FT_GlyphSlot_Embolden'


i get this sometimes when i try to build apps from source. can someone enlighten me what this is all about and if possible show me the solution/s. thank you.

Never gotten that one. Some Googling revealed this wonderfully formatted page in my Firefox at least (and yes, that's sarcasm) which indicates that you may need to install some FreeType X.Y.Z package.

Just thought I'd reply since you had no replies yet when I initiated reply. Try installing a freetype package (try linuxpackages.net to search for package).

Let us know how it works out.

Yep, sounds like it to me. "undefined reference" messages are linker messages meaning a symbol could not be found. Not only is installing the right library or "package" required, but the right version of said library/package.

hmm is that so? does that mean i need to look for the appropriate packages or do i have to modify the source of libfreetype?
