unable to start xwindows


hello all,
i am not able to go into the gui using startx because of some fatal error,
here is the log file of the error please help me out here
when not even xorgsetup worked
i used a knoppix live distro's xf86config file and copied it as /etc/X11/xorg.conf
and then typed startx
here is the log file

Why dont you save your existing xorg.conf file , have a good look at your hardware and simply run = xorgconfig

try copying the defalt xorg.conf setup files , maybe xorg.conf-vesa from your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Duryodhan's idea worked.
job done copying the xorg.conf-ves worked absolutely fine.
