I am using Slackware64-current / Xfce, and after last update of KDE, it seems I can't set Konsole highlight selected text color (barely visible in very light grey).
After digging goole, I couldn't find any way to change this... I can change background, foreground but no way to find selected text color.
On the other hand, my xterm still respect my .Xresources
I tried to find an entry with kcmshell5 but didn't find anything.

It seems that :
Highlight and normal text color are the same color setting ( 1st case upper left of foreground / color)
I reverted to the previous version 20.12.3, it's working ok.
same here , for other reasons , i have some scripts with desktop entries , launching like this
Quote:
Exec=sh -c "script;${SHELL:-bash}"
i use the latest part for no loose the konsole after script work ends, i know i can use some optional param , like --hold , --noclose , but this only mantain konsole opened but not returned to a usable way.
konsole 21.04.0 says cant find interactive shell , but 20.12.3 works well , as all the before works well.
Distribution: Slackware64 15.0 (started with 13.37). Testing -current in a spare partition.

Maybe we should open a bug ticket at KDE
I posted at KDE community forum about the highlight color.
It even has a sub-forum for konsole, but the replies count is extremely low.
That patch doesn't fully fix the issue for all color schemes. Hopefully the devs will either revert to the previous behavior or fix the newly introduced one.

> reversed colors always work, why change?
Good question.
For those reading the bug who don't follow git closely enough to have seen the original git commit notes, they said:
>> Improve appearance of text selection
>>
>> By blending foreground & background instead of swapping them,
>> you can get a more visually appealing text selection.
But "more visually appealing" really isn't if it's unreadable, and as we're demonstrating,
blending instead of swapping, by definition, is going to lower that contrast...
I hope they will bring back the old behavior completely.
Actually I had forgotten how much I like XFCE-terminal. Their "development" in Konsole is wearing me out. I don't find any speed deficit with xfce-terminal.
