I am using Slackware 12 on an AMD 64 bit computer. I have a Sony CD-RW. I was trying to browse through a data cd. One inserting the CD, I try to browse through it using Konqueror. The CD shows up in /mnt but when I click on it, I get this message:

When I check in /mnt/cdrom, it appears as if the CD has not been mounted. I can mount it by the mount command and browse through it in command line in /mnt/cdrom. When I try to play a music CD, I get the same message when I try to play it using a CD player like KsCD. When I try to mount it, I get an error - "mount: /dev/cdrom: can't read superblock". The CD is OK and plays in my CentOS 5 system that I have as dual boot. For that matter I can't play any of my other CDs in Slackware 12.
Please help.
