Works here as well, Slackware 14 64-bit multilib with Firefox 16.0.1 and latest flashplayer-plugin.

So... given that it works for others, should I re-install Slackware 14.0? Maybe something went wrong during installation??
I really do not know what else to do and I am not exactly a Linux expert!

Ok, thanks, I will give it a try. I did download and install Chromium because that is what I was able to find at SlackBuilds.com. But then I discovered that Chromium does not come with built-in Flash Player...

tb75252 10-13-2012 05:35 PM

I have installed Google Chrome as per suggestions.

When I go to www.accuradio.com/ (or any other site that uses flash!) I get the following pop-up message:
Quote:

Could not load Shockwave Flash.
Any idea of what prevents Chrome from loading its built-in flash? Clearly there is something in my setup that prevents the standalone flash, or the one built-in in Chrome, to load...

This is a guess:

Try removing the flash plugin you installed from SlackBuilds.

Maybe it is conflicting with something.

I have always just used the Flash player from Adobe: Download Adobe's *.tar.gz, decompress it, and, as root, copy libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/[whatever]/plugins.

You can check your Flash Player configuration in KDE by System Settings -> Lost and Found -> Adobe Flash Player.
Perhaps you have Flash cookies disabled for this site?

Or as also suggested try the older site, there have been some flash related problems reported with the new site....

I did but still no luck. See my earlier reply (message #12).

There is no "Lost and Found" in my System Settings screen.

I have just tested your suggestion and unfortunately flash still does not work.

Can you see the movie below?

No, I do not.
Code:

about:plugins
in Firefox 16 does list Shockwave Flash (I have installed flash-player-plugin 11.2.202.243). So, it so strange that flash is not working.
