unable to locate qt3 for configure/make install
Slackware 12.0.
Trying to install kmymoney2 from .bz2. Unzip ok with tar. Following README instructions for configure which asks locations for KDE and qt3, suggests locations relating to 10.0. (\usr/share for qt3 and \. for KDE) <Regret can't post readme file here or quote verbatim as same computer has intermittent network problems and won't mount removable drive correctly at present. I doubt it's anything serious>.
These locations result in message after partially successful configure "unable to locate library qt-mt, did you compile qt with thread support?"
Well, I have qt3 in package list and can locate LOTS of qt3 files including lib qt stuff, have changed configure command to include usr/lib and usr/doc but I sense I'm still wide of the mark and my best guess is that 12.0 requires something different.
Has anyone else experienced this?
BTW having read previous posts I agree that the tar command is what's needed for handling the bz files, although the Slackbook suggests explode and it's also possible to unzip with a right mouse click.
I really like Slack as an OS, it's fast to boot and use even on an old processor- so I'll keep it on. But as I like experimenting with packages I feel it's a bit time consuming so I think I'm being pushed back in the Debian direction.
Any suggestions on the problem or comments on the above will be very welcome- Phil
