You all know that there's a nice little build environment so download to compile KDE4 - it's similar to what garnome does for gnome.

I've tried it and it worked fine 2 alpha-versions ago - some really minor error somewhere in some totally unimportant thing, but that was all I had of possible problems.

This is slightly OT, because it really is a YUM question, but ....

I am just getting started with KDE and went to install everything for the first time, which entailed running some really ferocious YUM commands copied from the GettingStarted guide at Techbase.kde . The goal is to compile and run the HelloWorld KDE app they have there.

Well, I realized too late that what I got was KDE4, whereas I would really be better off with KDE 3.5 for stability. Moreover, my Fedora distro comes with KDE dev tools, although I'm not at all sure they are complete, or even what I need.

So how do I un-YUM all that glop and get back to where I was, then install KDE 3.5??

Riley

PS Failing that, how to get the qt qmake for KDE4 ... ?
