Question Unable to build ffmpeg from Slackbuilds - missing X11/X.h

I'm trying to build ffmpeg on Slackware 14.1 and have run up against a problem.
I've got the ffmpeg SlackBuild scripts and have successfully built and installed dependencies x264 and lame (also from SlackBuilds).

The build progresses up until, just after patching libavcodec/libilbc.c, with this error:
ERROR: X11 not found

I've checked config.log in /tmp/SBo/ffmpeg-2.1.5/ and the following snippet is where it fails:
Code:
In file included from /tmp/ffconf.XXFB0drN.c:1:0:
/usr/include/X11/Xlib.h:44:19: fatal error: X11/X.h: No such file or directory
 #include <X11/X.h>
                   ^
compilation terminated.
ERROR: X11 not found
I have the libX11 package installed as per:
[ installed ] - libX11-1.6.2-i486-1

I'm not running X on this box as it is primarily intended as a headless server. Can anyone suggest what I need to do ?

Well, there is a:

Code:
  --enable-x11grab \
In the build script, maybe removing that?

/usr/include/X11/Xlib.h is in the xproto package. Install that and try again (and I'm sure you'll get more warnings that you'll have to fix as well). You can see what files are from which packages without installing them by looking at the MANIFEST.bz2 file available from your favourite mirror (in the slackware or slackware64 directory).

Thanks. I've played whack-a-mole with the other missing headers and think I've got this sorted.
