konqueror I see as a better browser but I too seem addicted to FF. Its in Ubuntu because the developer choose to support it where slack didn't. reason for this? my answer would be KISS and more support adds complexity. Slackware leaves you with the option to recompile it and add it where Ubuntu you have to recompile to remove unwanted features.
