Two problems using Logitech optical mouse

Hello,

I am having problems using my Logitech ps/2 optical mouse in slackware... it definitely DOES NOT move as smoothly as it does on my Windows installation ( on the same machine ), and the wheel doesn't work on any of my applications... Can anyone dispense some helpful hints?! :-)

Thanks

THe problem with the mouse wheel not working has been brought up here many times. Do a search on mouse wheel and you should find the answer.

I'm using a Logitech USB optical mouse with a PS/2 adapter, and it wroks great. You just need to change your settings so that it is detected correctly, and get the scroll button to work.

the protocol for Logitech Optical mouse (USB/with USB-PS2 converter) should be IMPS/2. You can tweak the resolution when you are in Xwindow. As for in console (gpm) It is the best you can can get.
