No amazing insights in the article (atleast for the already enlightened), but it's nice to see that, finally, a reviewer of Slackware, actually 'gets it'.

Not bad!

A little dry but a good reference for new users.

A good article.

Is it true that Slackware is a one man project? It is too hard to believe it. I cannot recall the details, but I have a feeling that I have ran over posts on Linux Questions where the author was considered to be a "Slackware developer". The article suggests there are none.

Can anybody comment on the organizational side of Slackware development?

Mr. Volkerding is the maintainer of Slackware; he created the distro. There are also a number of Slackware developers (Robby, Eric, mRgOBLIN) who work tirelessly to bring each stable release to fruition. Also, patches, bug reports are submitted by Slackware users from all over the World.
Slackware is a team effort; Mr. Volkerding has the final veto authority, he decides what software is included in each release of Slackware.

Yep, it would seem the author does indeed "get it".

I like that article too - think it first appeared in linux format, by Mike Saunders iirc.

Which is why I love Slackware.

Slackware made frontpage on Digg with this article some days ago.
