TTY Disappears after logging into KDE

I reinstalled my laptop with UEFI mode on. Everything seemed to be working fine until I logged out of KDE.

In Legacy BIOS mode, Slackware drops me into the tty1 shell after I log out of KDE.

After reinstalling, however, I was stuck in a black screen and cannot do anything except pressing the three-finger salute or System Request. While I was running KDE I checked using Ctrl+Alt+F1~6, and sure they were all gone.

I am not sure if it is because of the UEFI mode.

I had this many years ago, it was due to X and the video driver. I would suggest you look /var/log/Xorg.0.log and maybe dmeg for hints.

I really forgot what I did to correct the issue back then, but if you have a nvidia board maybe try the proprietary driver.

In fact, sometimes logging out works fine, but sometimes it doesn't. And by the way, I am using AMD Radeon.
