Hi,

I bought a new laptop lenovo P51 with a 1tb NVMe drive.

First I tried to set the bios to legacy but it always gave me an error when I tried to write the MBR with the installer, it turned out the drive is too big to work with lilo and NVMe drives.

Then I tried to install following several documents on the internet like:

and many others.

Sad thing is, it works with Ubuntu 17.04 which I'm using to type this but I just hate Ubuntu so much it's crazy.

Is there any help anybody can give me, I'm missing slackware minute by minute.

This is how the drive looks like in the working Ubuntu;

Please let me know if you have experience in this or what I should do to get my slackware on my P51 starting from booting the USB install disk.

Did you turn off secure boot? You have to use eliloconfig with UEFI. You might need to run current with the newer kernel. You've got a fancy drive there

Yeah turned it off, followed the guidelines from ubuntu to set the bios up for UEFI ubuntu usage.

Hey, that's a great tip to use the current newer kernel, let me try to make a USB boot disk for it.
