Trying to resolve tput/terminfo
 

I am wrestling with tput and terminfo. Are these strictly character oriented? I am interested in moving by pixels. I see a mode called micro but can find no info could this be a way to move by pixel? I also see a parameter "initc" which is associated with colors. Can someone explain the term, man page didn't seem to address this? If anyone knows a good tutorial on terminfo and how to extract info rather than inputing info it will help immensely.

AFAIK terminals only deal with characters, not pixels. Period. There are special characters than can be used use to draw lines or stripes, that's it.

If I'm wrong, please someone correct me.
