Xpedition,
The name of the first set of fonts you saw was given in my post :-) The second font (the funky one) is called Letteromatic. I can't remember where I got it from but I will post them on my webby and you can download from there if you like.
Dropline Gnome is a way to update your current Gnome desktop. You install the dropline-installer simply by downloading it from their site:-
http://www.dropline.net/gnome
and installpkg dropline-installer[version]
Then you can download a large number of updates/new programs for Gnome. I have posted on dropline before, search this forum for the sorts of packages which are included. Its saved me from having to do a lot of work to get my desktop fully functional (xine for DVDs, GnomeMeeting for my cam, TTF fonts, etc, etc.). As Rodrin points out, it may not doing things as neatly as you would like, but for a n00b like me its a GREAT help. It sacrifices stability (Dropline is Gnome 2.2.4, Slack 9 has Gnome 2.2.o I think) for 'up to date ness' (my vocab failed me there), but then I am not running a vital server :-)
