trouble with VNC

well, i've finally got slackware 10.2 installed on here again. right now, i've got a vnc server running on my WinXP box, in general, it works fine. but when i try to use windows media player over it, the visual part of the program (like, a DVD menu, visualizations, etc) doesn't come across, there's just a black part in the middle of WMP. any ideas?

I've noticed the same thing. But I didn't really worry to much about it since playing a DVD or any video is not what I'm up to when I'm remote controlling a system. I'm not even sure if it's possible. What particular flavor of VNC are you using on the server and the client?

Perhaps, if they have a forum specific to your VNC, that may be a good place to find out if they have support, or plan on having support.

I guess the media player is using a video overlay to display the movie stream and the dvd menus. VNC will not display that content.
But then again, VNC is not meant for that.
