Trouble with Slack 9.0

OK...I'm pretty new to linux. I've successfully installed Mandrake 7.0 on my armada laptop, and played around with that a little bit. I decided to go for an upgraded version, and downloaded slack 9.0 and burned the image onto cd.
Install/setup all worked out fine, but after the first reboot after installation, I get this:

LI_

...and it won't respond to anything. No LILO choices or boot: or anything. Has anyone seen this before, or know what the problem is?

Try installing LILO again. I've seen this before. I got it after I formatted my Linux drive and my MBR still had LILO in it. fdisk /mbr in MS-DOS fixed it.

Code:
fdisk /mbr
