Trouble with rc.inet1
Hi,
I've got a couple of questions pertaining to /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 on Slackware-current
I'm using two interfaces as defined in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf - ath0 (madwifi+wpa_supplicant) and eth0 (ethernet).
When doing rc.inet1 ath0_down;;sleep 5;;rc.inet1 ath0_up, it takes 5-8 seconds before dhcpcd displays the MAC address, and further 10 seconds before I actually get an IP address. On the eth0 interface, this goes in 2 seconds maximum.
Also - looking at the system logs, the system reports that I have 5 eth interfaces available but not configured, eth0 and ath0 being active, and eth1, eth2, eth3, eth4 and eth5 available - how come, and where are these defined? They are not in my rc.inet1.conf or rc.wireless.conf ..
And finally - taking the system multiple times from runlevel 1 to runlevel 4 consistently causes trouble with DHCP leases and the interfaces. I have a pretty stable DHCP server (also on Slackware) which does not cause trouble for other boxes, so I assume the trouble is either caused by rc.inet1, madwifi or wpa_supplicant....
This is not really urgent - just a minor annoyance...
