I just got a Dell Inspiron with a touch screen and wanted to know if anyone on the list has been able to successfully install Slackware and successfully enabled touch screen. Are there any help guides to get this done? TIA.
Can't speak for that device specifically, but running a Chromebook Pixel 2 here, and the touchscreen worked out of the box (oddly, the touchpad requires a bit of tinkering first, lol). And in Chrome, I can scroll and swipe forward/back with it. Don't use it frequently, but pretty neat.

Most touchscreens are all USB powered, I've seen some machines work well right out of the box. I haven't seen anything fail yet.
I have a Lenovo Graphics Tablet with a touch screen. Every Linux distro I've used on it, either directly or in a VM, recognized the touch screen out of the box. (Slackware doesn't happen to be one of those distros, but I would greatly surprised if you had any issues.)
