Just saw the following:

I started to laugh then thought should I cry?
Because it's Microsoft, I would worry it's a Trojan horse No way would I put a Microsoft product on my Linux box. Heck, I don't own or use any of their products at home, why would I use this...
Linux (and its ecosystem) lost a lot of its appeal as soon as the likes of Google, Facebook, Canonical and Red Hat got involved. Microsoft is just another of those trying to muscle in on the territory. No better, and not a whole lot worse.
Agree. The Microsoft of today is still who they are, but a whole lot more open source friendly than when they were under the previous Google and open source hating jerk of a CEO. I just don't use their products, not because I don't trust them, but because they don't make a single thing I like using or that gives me anything I can't get from open source.

Sadly I do. I have a variety of Linux/BSD work stations in my place and one Win 10 Pro laptop. Windows update just broke Windows Defender in the last little while. M$ is a steaming cluster#@*%. [/rant]
I look forward to the day I can be rid of this OS (my wife and daughter need it for work and school).
I really do not need Microsoft to hold my Gnu/Linux hand.
In a perfect World my household would be completely M$ free. However, my Wife is working from home these days and she needs to tunnel in to a proprietary network running all sorts of M$ asshattery.
Similar situation here, although I work from home normally anyway, I just don't need to own any M$ products: using my work laptop with Windows 10 and the company owns that. 8 hours a day of it is enough to make crazy, but at least I get to fire up my Linux box at the end of the day and get my OS Zen time

I thankfully don't rely on any Windows-specific software for work (in fact, some of the software I use is designed for Linux). I'm terribly sorry that you have to; it sounds utterly terrible.

Being a pen tester, my only saving grace is that most of my work is in Kali Linux, albeit in a VM running from another windows VM in our proxied attack space. Better than having to only use windows!
