toshiba tecra 8000 sound not working
 

Greetings,

I have been trying to get sound working on this laptop running slackware 10 with kernel 2.4.26 The sound comes from the Yamaha OPL3-SAx
In the BIOS, the relevent settings are:
WSS I/O = 530H
SBPRO I/O = 220H
IRQ 5
WSS Play DMA = channel 1
WSS Rec DMA = channel 0

After searching on google for a case matching mine, I finally found instructions telling me to edit /etc/lilo.conf and add the following line: append = "opl3sa2=0x388,5,1,0,0x530,0x330"

Then execute lilo, reboot and execute alsaconf and it should detect the sound. It didn't and I have run out of ideas.

Sorry I can´t be of any real help but I had a quick google my self and found this page... I hope it helps!

Sorry for the late reply. It would appear I made a mistake in menuconfig when compiling the kernel because I just ran alsaconf after booting the default vmlinuz and everything went smoothly. Thanks anyway for the link :)
