TOR SlackBuild Script.
Using the SlackBuild script, appropriately edited to change the version number, as I've done in the past, I'm trying to build the latest TOR, version 0.2.2.32.
However, this time all appears to go well until close to the end when it returns,
Quote:
make[2]: Entering directory `/tmp/SBo/tor-0.2.2.32'
make[3]: Entering directory `/tmp/SBo/tor-0.2.2.32'
make[3]: Nothing to be done for `install-exec-am'.
make[3]: Nothing to be done for `install-data-am'.
make[3]: Leaving directory `/tmp/SBo/tor-0.2.2.32'
make[2]: Leaving directory `/tmp/SBo/tor-0.2.2.32'
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/SBo/tor-0.2.2.32'
cp: cannot stat `AUTHORS': No such file or directory
|
Any suggestions on how to change the script would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Add
to the slackbuild after the line
Code:
cd $PRGNAM-$VERSION
It's at line 89 in the slackbuild I have.

Yeah this is the best way to have a fix for this. Of course your installation won't have the people who worked on TOR, but that can probably be found on torproject.org

Why not just remove the AUTHORS file from the line that copies docs?

I went to the doctor because every time I touched my nose, I felt a lot of pain
After some tests, he discovered I had a broken finger

It is much faster than it use to be and there are times when there is almost no lag at all. The switch to Polipo (from Privoxy) made a big difference and using Vidalia allows you to quickly try a different Tor connection if your current one is too slow.

Perhaps you can contribute, and setup a relay and donate some bandwidth.
Kind regards

From the website:

The Tor network relies on volunteers to donate bandwidth. The more people who run relays, the faster the Tor network will be. If you have at least 20 kilobytes/s each way, please help out Tor by configuring your Tor to be a relay too.

Kind regards

Well running your own relay won't make it faster for you directly, but the more people who run relays, the faster the network as was posted above. (I just wanted to clarify the first part)

Haven't installed TOR yet. Torify script is reported to leak DNS, anyone have a fix here? Since tsocks is an optional dependency if i do not install it, do I have to change anything in the .slackbuild script?
