Alright everyone, i dont know if anyone actually has heard of, or runs this form of slackware, but it seems very similar, and runs on top of my NTFS partition, cause i am waiting for my new 80 gig drive to get to me.....so anyway, the only way to boot it is to boot from CD, so I am thinking, if i wanna add the nvidia drivers to my kernel, I basically cant do it, cause the kernel is being booted off of the CD right?
well, guess i can just work on compiling the new kernel for my slackware distro that i am going to install when i get my new drive, and then install it on there once i get slack up an running...unless someone out there has any clue about another way around this.
i installed all the files for topologilinux on my machine (which is running win 2000). then per instructions, i rebooted with the cd in and attempted to run the install. it starts installing and then tries to mount the cdrom (to get the files to install.....) and it won't do that. anyone have any suggestions? i really want to get this working... i don't really NEED it but i have been fighting this thing for 2 days and its become personal...
try to specify the location of your drive manually, instead of letting it auto scan, so you would have to put something like /dev/hd? ? = c if it is on your master bus of the second ide device, or d if it is on the slave bus of the second ide device, you should look in your bios to try and find out if you dont already know.....if this doesnt help, tell me more about the problem, like at what screen it freezes, i had no problems with my install, but i will help as much as i can...
