[EDIT] Sorry for the noise, what follows seems to be wrong as expanding the initrd "manually" I find this file. I will investigate further.

This script told me that in Slackware-current 32 bit as of Sat Jul 6 02:14:00 UTC 2013, a file was missing in /isolinux/initrd.
It is /etc/rc.d/rc.font.

It is not missing in the 64 bit version though.


PS Now everything seems OK, I can't figure out what happened.

If it is that I am using this forum to inform Mr. Patrick Volkerding of (possible) bugs in Slackware and sometimes transmit him requests about Slackware, you are right. This is customary in this Slackware forum and as far as I know, nobody but you complains about that.

About the words you used, I can't but approve what Alien Bob already wrote. I don't feel offended, but Mr Volkerding could.

Other than that I apologize to all readers for not having double checked what I wrote before sending the initial post of this thread.

Well I am offended, on Mr. Volkerding's behalf, on yours, Didier, and on behalf of all Slackware users, as the implication is against all of us. That comment was not in fact almost insulting, but outrageous. I don't believe a person who would write such an unprovoked insult should be a moderator at all.

I've noticed a few more @Pat postings recently, maybe that was just acid_kewpie jerking chains (teasing)?

Perhaps he was joking, but I found the comment to be inappropriate. In my opinion a moderator should not be disrespectful towards forum members.

I agree. Didier Spaier is one of the most knowledgeable, helpful, and good-natured members of our community, and does not deserve to be addressed in that way. Nor should our maintainer have to deal with that sort of rudeness here at the official Slackware forum. I find it genuinely disturbing to see that coming from anyone, much less a moderator. Mr. Volkerding deserves nothing but our appreciation and respect.

It didn't seem like a joke to me. But either way, I think this moderator should apologize.

Update: the LQ moderator in question explained to me he has squared things up with the OP and with the "victim" as well.

Hey guys, sorry for my comment above. Not exactly at my best. I significantly misjudged how the Slackware community uses the forums here, due to not being as familiar as I really should have been. That in itself is clearly no excuse for causing offence to anyone though.
