Thunderbird-12 does not play new mail notification

I did the upgrade to TB-12 in -current, and I finally noticed that the new mail notification does not work. I reverted back to 11.0 and the notification plays just fine. A google search turned up all kinds of stuff for this issue in the past, but none of it seems to apply to now.

Anyone else seeing this issue?

Is it just the audio notification not working? If so I've the same issue under Debian. I've been having some sound problems recently though so I put it down to that.

Yep, just the sound.
However I did have trouble forwarding email with tbird in -current but that was also fixed with the downgrade.

Then looks like I am having the same problem. For the record I use Thunderbird current binary from Mozilla kept up to date through its own update mechanism.

I hadn't yet tried to forward anything, so I have no idea if that was working. Replies were fine. I can live without sound, the popup alert works fine, its just that I like the audio alert when I'm in another room.

TB-12.0.1 is in -current. It was supposed to fix new mail notifications. It didn't - still doesn't play sound.

libcanberra was already installed on my system. However, I rebuilt the package through sbopkg and now the sound works. Go figger....

Anyway, thanks Willy!
