Hi

In -current, Thunar does not display thumbnails for some .pdf files. Others are just fine:

weird...

Do you have the "tumbler" package installed?

yes i do. And today I noticed this in the ChangeLog:

Quote:

xfce/tumbler-0.1.25-x86_64-2.txz: Rebuilt.
I updated, but still the same problem, though. I wonder if Thunar prefers to display a certain type of articles to others... :)

What if you're seeing the cached thumbnails created by the last version of thunar that created thumbnails? To tell, look at the dates in the ~/.thumbnails directory, specifically the large and normal subdirectories.

You could also try deleting all of those and see if thunar will regenerate _any_ of your thumbnails.

IIRC, the thumbnailing system in xfce/thunar underwent something of an overhaul and filetype-specific thumbnailers now have to be written that know how to transform each type of file into a thumbnail of itself.

However, don't place too much credence in what I just said as I don't know exactly how long that system has been in place...

I agree. When I rename a .pdf file with no icon, an icon appears then disappears.
Does anybody else see this, or I am the only one with a system slow enough?

I don't run Slackware current, but I found this. It seems that the 'problematic' pdfs have an embedded thumbnail that tumbler fails to display (tumbler uses poppler for pdfs btw).
