Hi,

is this a new behaviour of the program? which version of Slackware are you using? Did you run any upgrades before?

I had similar problems with pan. It helped to rebuild it, I used the slackbuild-script from the sources-directory.

I can rename files inside Thunar, which stays open.

Configuration files are in ~/.config/Thunar folder.

i'm running slackware 13.73 yes it's new behavior and i have upgraded "glib" package and it's dependencies.
EDIT: i don't intend to rebuild Thunar from slackbuild, and if i Thunar problem still exist,i can use "dolphin" instead but i dont know how to make dolphin default file manager under xfce wm.

If you run thunar from the cli, does that provide any clues?

i run thunar from cli , then pasted some file and gave me that error on the terminal, it's now clear that is an issue with the epgrade of "glib"

should i downgrade glib again !!

That would seem like a good idea.

Why did you upgrade it?

Go to "Settings" > "Preferred Applications" > "Utilities" and change the default file manager to /usr/bin/dolphin.

Hi,

as I see you couldn't yet solve the problem. I'd recommend (again) to simply rebuild the package for thunar. You will simply have to download the packages from your local Slackware-mirror from the sources-directory. ftp://sunsite.informatik.rwth-aachen...thunar-volman/
Then create a directory in /tmp, for example /tmp/build-thunar/ and move the downloaded files into the directory. Be sure to make the Slackbuild-script executable with
Code:

chmod 755 thunar-volman.Slackbuild
and then execute the script as root.

You will finde the package in the /tmp directory and can install with
Code:

upgradpkg thunar-volman*
As I wrote above, in a similar case this helped me when pan crashed.
