Slackware current with MATE 1.22 from the msb mirror at slackware.uk Basically default. Running on an old Dell small form factor PC with a couple of recycled monitors.

Apparently no way to span panel or to have different wallpapers on each screen. Apart from that, all good. Grateful to Patrick, wider Slackware team, Willy and Chess and all.

I use "cwm": minimalistic WM from OpenBSD available in SB.
You are encouraged to do everything with keyboard in this WM, although you can still use mouse.
No window borders, no virtual desktops, only hotkeys to resize windows, move them, maximize and switch between them.

CWM configured by .cwmrc file.
I bound prntscreen button to my script that does screenshots.
Code:
.cwmrc
bind-key Print "/home/[cut]/screen.sh"

screen.sh
#!/bin/sh
DATE=`date +"%F_%H-%M-%S"`
xwd -root -display :0 | convert - jpg: >/home/[cut]/$DATE.jpg
I also thought about binding brightness buttons on my laptop to xbacklight, but then I did it with acpi to make it work outside of xorg.
