In my laptop days I would use this simple battery application. Doubtless there are better ones now...

the icons start the applications. It's easy with idesk.

I have blocked some things for the user. Only root is allowed to access /var/log. Nothing serious, all for testing purposes .. just for fun

Here's a new screenshot of a simple lightweight setup without sacrificing features. Slackware current, openbox 3.6.1, running tint2 for the panel, with systray icons for: dropbox, nm-applet, pnmixer. I still can't stop using Konsole as my preferred terminal emulator, so there it is as well. XDG menus are autogenerated through openbox's powerful pipe feature.

Looks great! I can't see all of the wallpaper but I love it anyway, do you have a download link?

Thanks! I think I just picked it at random based on the file name, and as soon as 'fbsetbg' plopped it onto my desktop I loved it too.

It is Fog_on_the_West_Lake, a wallpaper that actually comes with KDE, provided by the package 'kde-wallpapers'. Both KDE4 with stock Slackware and AlienBob's KDE5 packages include it. The file is located at: /usr/share/wallpapers/Fog_on_the_West_Lake/contents/images/1920x1080.jpg - but other resolutions are provided as well.

Very nicely done photograph. Sufficiently introspective, erotic and atmospheric. It works for me.

add a subtitle: "Her gaze coyly longing for the release of Slackware 15 and Bob's return"
