I do like some of these vintage images of computing labs. Your desktop is nice and minimalist too. By way of coincidence, you may appreciate this fortune message that came through on my login this morning, I found it amusing.

By all means, do not use a hammer.
Great manual .
Btw if anyone wants to know.
It's xfce with the Vimix theme. Be aware Vimix got a bug where the CPU goes to 100% use. It's fixed with setting the panel-preferences->appearence->style set to a 'solid color' so no 'none'. src.
The icon theme is Papirus-Dark.

EDIT: They fixed the CPU going to 100% usage src

It's nearly Halloween... but may be NSFW. Only because your colleagues could look at you strangely [if they don't already].

Really old screenshot when I was running Slackware 10.2 and XFCE on a PII 266 MHz unit that had 128 MB RAM and a 4 GB HD.

Thanks!

That is Xfce4-panel with xfce4-netload-plugin from SBo. From stock Slackware I used xfce4-systemload-plugin and orage clock. I am using the Arc-Dark theme from SBo with Xfce window manager tweaks enabled.

I don't know what kind of video card that old beige box had back in 2005; I don't own the unit anymore. I was just happy to get the sound card working so I could listen to Bowie.

For amusement - 1337 h4x0r version.

This wm theme is actually quite fun, if a little unsubtle.
