Fluxbox it is then! That actually makes things a little easier for me anyways considering that if I'm not mistaken it's one of the default X environments you can choose from unlike Openbox.

Nice.
Seems like Firefox is drawing much of the RAM here...

Regards.

is here at LQ a thread dedicated to this?
I think I will go for BFS, as I think I need it

My new laptop running 64 current multilib XFCE. Think I have everything the way I want it minus conky, not sure I feel like messing with it because I never seem to like the way I have it.

i just got slackware installed and mounted my home partition that already had my rox and fluxbox configs ready to go, with all the keyboard shortcuts and scripts im used to using. My desktop for the past 10 years or so has usually been fluxbox, rox and some kind of panel, with various changes in theme and color. Before that it was enlightenment and some kind of panel. i never liked KDE much and gnome (except for nautilus) was ok, but id rather put my own together from bits and pieces. I unhid the gkrellms and panel to take this shot.

fbsetbg -f /pathtowallpaper will set the wallpaper fullscreen. Also, if you want a nice desktop with shortcuts, check out rox-filer. http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...tem/rox-filer/

If you run it like so:

Code:
rox -pinboard
it will give you a nice desktop, you can create and add shortcuts and it will do the background setting.
