A bit more 'ricing' and getting the desktop looking cleaner with some help from the Whisker menu.

This is a nice setup, Lysander.

Here is my humble desktop. I just need it to look good enough to look at for extended periods of time :)

Absolutely love your cyberpunk wall. It's interesting how Slackware lends itself so fittingly to the cyberpunk aesthetic, isn't it. It's always felt that way for me. I watched Blade Runner with the wife quite recently, she'd never seen it before and sat silent throughout the whole thing. When, at the end, I asked what she thought of it, she said, "that's the kind of film I would make".

Yeah I'm really glad I stumbled across it. I hadn't thought of it that way before, but I agree that something about it fits the cyberpunk aesthetic.

my current 3-monitor set-up:

This is an older screenshot, but only thing that's really changed is the addition of more wallpapers to rotate from.

I have to hide in a corporate environment ;)
But i can work perfectly using ivandi's SlackADS and a windows 10 theme on xfce.
Sadly the company does not support anything but windows. The only reason they have linux is because the SAP servers run on linux boxes.

The next step is to also get the hourly and daily forecast data to display in an Openbox pipe menu.

I finished this part now too. See here for the source code, SlackBuild, and some examples in the README:

https://github.com/montagdude/openbox-weather

It is working really well here so far, but there may still be some things to work out with matching up icons to weather descriptions that I haven't gotten to test yet (e.g., snow). Only other caveat is that it gets the weather data from the US National Weather Service, and I don't think they have any weather stations in other countries.

Finally... Slackware gets placement on the desktop PC, bare metal. There's some way to go till the install is considered complete, but we're getting there.

One thing I will say is that compile times are fast. And this OS is fast. A different experience to working on the laptop.

Feeling nostalgic for some 90s cartoons that had over the top humor.

Okay, I know I've posted a few lately, but I have to show off my newly-captured desktop wallpaper photo (that is a tern, not a seagull) and the rest of the indicators (CPU, memory, battery) that I just finished creating for my tint2 panel.

I think I like how my new background looks , and made some adjustments to the text color for both the terminal and panel - I think it came out quite nicely :)
