Edit: nevermind, it seems Willy's 14.2 repository is still on Cinnamon 3.4.
I have been testing Cinnamon 4.x and IMO the "new-style" panel is about the ugliest thing that I have ever seen. Now a bunch of settings need to be changed to make it back to what it was instead of the sane option of making the change if the user wants it. On top of that, they are going totally Windows style when you click a icon in the left side of the panel it is not opening a new panel tab, instead it is just highlighting the icon on the left side of the panel. I use Cinnamon 3.4.x on my daily laptop, and it seems that I might be going back to XFCE after these recent "improvements".
I mean if I wanted my DE to look like Windows, I would be using.......wait for it,

I just prefer the type of window list with grouped applications, but I must admit my first thought was that they were just trying to make it look like Windows when I read about it. Anyway, I just wanted to try it, but I don't plan to switch from Openbox in any case.

I'm not exactly using Willy's CSB, But my scripts are derived from his, and I have some customization, gnome packages, etc. but generally defaults in ALL the packages that I use. I'll post a screenshot with the new Cinnamon defaults soon.
For those using a window manager rather than a DE, jgmenu is a really nice addition. It can even display Openbox pipe menus, which is a nice feature for Openbox users. (I have one of those - a dynamic weather display menu.)

I hadn't seen that one either. Nice for Openbox functionally and visually.

Yeah, I was using obmenu-generator before, and I was getting a bit tired of having to manually regenerate the menu every time. This also has some other nice features, like searching, in addition to its nice looks. Here is mine after a little more tweaking. The top part with the icon and search box is basically the same thing they show in the documentation on Github. The only issue I'm experiencing is that some applications seem to get grouped into weird categories (like stellarium in Languages and settings applications in Accessibility? I have no idea why), and those two categories not being listed in alphabetical order.
