This is my current fvwm (2.6.7) config, it has gnome3 look. The button bar on the left side uses autohide. It is presented for use when the pointer is moved to the left side of the screen.
This is my fluxbox setup. Custom theme.cfg from scratch (no pixmaps or GTK) with a red desktop. Red is hard to create something in that isn't eye-burning, but this is easy for me to work in. Urxvt with backgroundPixmap defined.
I wanted to play with CDE so I installed the packages from ponce, and loaded it on my Slackware VM.
Then I made the mistake of trying to change the colour scheme - it required a logout, what could go wrong? Well when trying to log back in, it just spits me out to the CDE login screen - I had to pause the VM at the right moment - but the only msg was 'connection established'. Hrmmmm
-edit
I managed to get out of runlevel4 since it appears dtlogin just won't play nice, but CDE won't retain any of the changes I make to it when re-entering.
