Hi,

What sort of mouse do you have? Also post the "Core Pointer's InputDevice section" from your xorg.conf.

# The available mouse protocols types that you can set below are:
# Auto BusMouse GlidePoint GlidePointPS/2 IntelliMouse IMPS/2
# Logitech Microsoft MMHitTab MMSeries Mouseman MouseManPlusPS/2
# MouseSystems NetMousePS/2 NetScrollPS/2 OSMouse PS/2 SysMouse
# ThinkingMouse ThinkingMousePS/2 Xqueue
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2" <-------------------- Change your PS/2 too that
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" <-------------------- Add that line in

Edit those in ur xorg.conf file /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Reboot and bam!!

Okay, let me fix some things you got wrong or didn't include here:

Here's the proper part from the mouse settings from /etc/X11/xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"

# Identifier and driver

Code:
    Identifier	"Mouse1"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "ImPS/2"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
You only need the ZAxisMapping if you have a mouse with a wheel. If you change that file, save it, and if you have X running, restart it (Either log out of X or do ALT+CTRL+Backspace). Your settings should take effect then.
