Theoretically is it possible to set up apt-get or portage on a slackware system?

This is just out of sheer curiousity because it seems to be such a waste that slackware doesn't have such a package management feature.

Sure, I've seen apt-get on Redhat and other systems and I'm sure others have install Gentoo's portage on other distro's besides Gentoo..

Knock yourself out....

I love installing from source to tell you the truth though. It gives me full control over my system, etc.

While its fully possible for someone to port APT or make their own similar system (like Dropline GNOME or Swaret), theres no huge Slackware Package repository out there, so it would be pointless.

Unless you want to host/build 1000s of packages yourself?
