Yeah, that was mentioned yesterday.
Come over to China, for the worst ISP there is -- China Railcom.
My rsync script has been at it for 3 hours now, just got to ruby.
And there's almost 1G of updates. All of KDE and X had to be
recompiled, and as the bugs surface, they'll probably be more.
Maybe all of these "when will 11.0 be out" guys can help us test?

sorry for that, as i got it this morning in Indonesian time
i have download most of them (libraries), and i skipped the big one for tommorrow (KDE, Tetex, and X). Yet, i have to examine the changelog before i applied them all, since most of them are related and it will be a big mess if i read it carelessly (
Some packages are split and one of them are merged (python). ohhh.. what a huge changelog this time.
I wonder what's still left on Pat's TODO list??

zux there's another primary mirror
as listed in the security advisory notifications

Where to find the new packages:

HINT: Getting slow download speeds from ftp.slackware.com?
Give slackware.osuosl.org a try. This is another primary FTP site
for Slackware that can be considerably faster than downloading
from ftp.slackware.com.
Thanks to the friendly folks at the OSU Open Source Lab
(http://osuosl.org) for donating additional FTP and rsync hosting
to the Slackware project! :-)

How long have you waited? One day?
I emailed Pat about a possible gtk2 bug on 07/01/2006 12:42 AM,
and he replied to me on 07/07/2006 09:11 AM. He's a busy man,
piloting a big ship almost by himself.
Patience, young man.

There is more than one mirror, you know:
http://alphageek.dyndns.org/linux/sl...-mirrors.shtml
I 'rsync'ed -current a few months back, and have been regularly updating, instead of downloading the whole thing every time.
The advantage for me is that most of the western world is asleep while I'm downloading it!

There's a good reason that link was so slow:
Code:
mingdao@paul:~$ host stp.slackware.com
Host stp.slackware.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
Check the Official Slackware mirrors and use the one which is fastest for you.

You asked when will Slackware-11.0 be released, and there is only one answer to that. You will find Slackware's home page listing when Slackware-10.2 was released, and the date on the Slackware-10.2 Announcement file on the ftp site -- 09/13/2005 12:00:00 AM.
Slackware-11.0 will be relased at one moment in time, and it has absolutely nothing to do with your postman -- or mine; who rides a bicycle and delivers a notice, not my packages.
Come on, mate, you're UserCP says you're running -current ... why are you itchy about Slacwkare-11.0? Just keep -current updated and you'll have it when it's released.
Except for install scripts, etc. I noticed and reported that KDEI on -current (and 10.2, also) does not install any foreign language. Therefore, I'll want the new scripts as well, so when I check KDEI, I get languages other than English.

Did you really think I was serious? Now THAT's funny.
Until yesterday's changelog, I thought I already WAS running 11.0.
