The state of linux kernel power bug and slackware 14.0 ?

Does kernel 3.2.29 that slackware 14.0 use still contains the notorious linux power bug which introduced in kernel 2.6.38 (IIRC) ?

I'm pretty sure that 3.2.29 does not have this issue. If I remember correctly, it was fully patched before the 3.2 release.

I just made a short on my latop with a fresh install of 14.0. Powertop predicts a battery life of about 4 hours, which is pretty much the same as with 13.37, so I think the regression was fixed already.

Some Sandy Bridge processors still have some power issues(kernel doesn't really control power management) and this makes the core temperature be a little high. I had this problem until yesterday, but is fixed now. See this topic http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-a-4175429540/ , it might help.
