HI:
The kernel version of slackware is 2.6.33.4,and I mount a NTFS partition like this:
mount -o iocharset=gb2312 /dev/sda5 /media/win_d
/dev/sda5 is NTFS partition used in the vista system.
it can mount the sda5 successflly, but the chinese file/folder name is random character when I use the "ls" command or acess them with the GUI file manager.
The chinese character can be showed right when I open a chinese character file with kwrite or openoffice, and the chinese file/folder name are also right when I use TAB key in bash window.
Set up you environment to use UTF8. For example zh_CN.UTF-8 instead of zh_CN.GB2312. The ntfs-3g no longer supports non-utf locales.
If your linux partitions have filenames in other encodings, use convmv to convert them to utf8.
