Another round of updates has been scheduled for release early Wednesday afternoon, GMT.

If no problems are found while testing the release candidates, they might be available late Tuesday (depending on your time zone).

5.2.7, will accommodate 131 patches.

4.19.65, will have 74 patches.

4.14.137, will contain 53 patches.

4.9.188, will include 42 patches.

4.4.188, will incorporate 22 patches.

-current is the development branch. It's not supposed to be stable.

Testing every kernel release provides familiarity with problems common to kernel releases, and also makes unusual or new problems recognizable as unusual or new.

Testing every kernel release cuts down on the surprises that might show up when the time comes to make a stable release, and grants insights for choosing the best kernel release to use in it.

It equips you to decide whether to use the latest longterm kernel for a stable release, or wait for a better one, or use an older one.

That's CVE-2019-1125 - Spectre SWAPGS gadget vulnerability and it looks like a kernel update will suffice to mitigate it:

The 32-bit version of the DUSK-4.4.188 kernel has shown up at,

It wasn't there yesterday or the day before, but is dated, 6 August.

If no problems are found while testing the release candidates, they might be available late Friday or early Saturday (depending on your time zone).

5.2.8, will accommodate 56 patches.

4.19.66, will have 45 patches.

4.14.138, will contain 33 patches.

Looks like 4.4.189 will include Spectre v1 swapgs mitigations. Good news for those running -stable.

An update for the 3.16.y kernel series has been scheduled for release at Noon on Tuesday, GMT.

The 3.16.72 update will have 157 patches.
