It appears Board Member 55020's automated script used to create the
DUSK 4.4.y updates is no longer working. I just searched the board and
he hasn't posted since last December.
Perhaps, he is on a well deserved sabbatical in the South Pacific somewhere?

I have the Xanmod LTS 4.19.29-xanmod15 kernel compiled and running on my Slackware 14.2 install and it runs at slightly less ram than even the generic kernel. I needed it for the aufs module.

Well, we're a week away from the merge window close, and here's rc2.
Things look fairly normal, but honestly, rc2 is usually too early to

Nothing particularly stands out. Yes, we had some fixes for the new
io_ring code for issues that were discussed when merging it. Other
than that, worth noting is that the bulk of the patches are for

is just for the tools/ subdirectory, most of it due to some late perf
tool updates. The people involved promise they're done.

Ignoring the tools thing, the rest is just spread all over, and it's
all pretty small. It's _roughly_ evenly split between arch updates,
drivers and filesystem code, but that's partially because of the
aforementioned io_ring thing (making the filesystem side pop a bit).
But there's minor noise elsewhere too. Most of the arch/ code is a
late ARC update. But none of it really is all that large or worrisome.

Another round of kernel updates has been scheduled for release early Thursday morning, GMT/UTC.
If no problems are found while testing the release candidates, they should be available sometime Wednesday.

A scan of the change log showed fixes for CVE-2018-19985, CVE-2019-3701, CVE-2019-3819, CVE-2019-6974, CVE-2019-7221 and CVE-2019-7222.

Looks like the 4.19.31 kernel introduced a minor console bug where leaving some ncurses programs will leave a stray underscore on the screen. Switching away to a different console and back cleans it up.

Reproducer: use "links" to visit any web page and then exit with control-c.

I've tracked this down to commit b05581b8ba9c6c84290f3390c552ea78b77bddea (vt: perform safe console erase in the right order).

This issue doesn't seem to be addressed by any of the patches that are pending for 4.19.32.

I was getting random intermittent freezing with 5.0.x and 4.20.x
The whole system would randomly freeze for 5 seconds or so AND/OR firefox or chrome would just stop working altogether with no crash logs etc. Had to kill processes.
Moving back to 4.19.x fixed those issues immediately.
There were no dmesg or any other logs I could find...
I think I'll stick with LTS for now .....
