There is now an Wiki Slackware FAQ (it's been up for a few months now) - the problem with a thread like the one here is:

1) It quickly gets into a mess
2) As in this case, the OP has vanished and no longer updates the stickied post
3) Mistakes are made and have to wait to be corrected
4) Also, I believe there's a time limit to editing posts? (Regardless, I'd consider it a waste. A sticked message pointing to the FAQ would be far more adequate, and remove any need for extra maintenance from the board end)

The flip side though is that it isn't searcheable from the forum search engine - but then again, I still live in hope and expect people to look at the stickied FAQ in a forum first... (I can always dream, can't I? )

If you start a new thread, you'll probably get better exposure for this question.

I can't help you without seeing the specific error. Does '' run ok, and what is the error message '' produces?

If you're running X.Org 6.7.0 (the default with Slackware 10.0, unless you've upgraded?) then you have the correct RPM.
