TGZ in Zipslack

Hello,

I have just installed Zipslack in my old Dell Latitude XP4100C. I want to add X and KDE. I have already downloaded the TGZ files. I do not know where to put the files so pkgtool can find them. So, I had put two of the TGZs on my PCMCIA flashdrive and one in the hard disk, outside the Linux directory, as in a previous trial, I put them inside the Linux directory and they got renamed be the system on bootup.

I will appreciate any guidance, as I am new to Linux and I am unfamiliar with the directory structures, etc... But I am having a lot of fun learning!

it doesn't really matter.
you are given the choice to install
from the current dir or another...

however, it's much easier to just
`installpkg /path/to/packagename.tgz`

Don't place files into your /linux directory while running Windows. Place them anywhere in the win file system you like -you can find all that in your /DOS directory while running zipslack. cd into the directory where they are and use installpkg from there.
