Got cups running again.
Now kivio works ok and kword print preview does not complain.
Selecting fonts now works and affects cursor entry size, BUT:
When a character is entered the wysiwyg part of the kwrite window freezes
When I try to close kwrite nothing happens for several seconds and then a window - kwin message appears saying that kwrite has stopped responding, do I want to close it anyway.
Closing klipper has no effect.
I tried uninstalling koffice, remove the kwordrc and kpresentrc files, reboot and then reinstall koffice. No change
There are no error messages in the logs when the window hangs
Problem solved by changing from default bitstream sans vers font to anything else before any text entry. Strangely I can revert to bitstream font later without problems.
I can be more specific now. The hang is still occurring, but only with letters, not numerals or punctuation.
This is hinting at a spell check or autocompletion problem
I am having the exact same problem, though changing the font before typing produces the same result... any idea in how to debug kword? it happens in kpresenter too
Starting kword from a terminal prompt does not reveal any clues.
Fonts DO NOT have anything to do with this. I have tried various combinations of spell check, auto correct without any differences in behaviour.
