Terminal question

Hey all. I just installed Slackware 10 and I'm totally new to Slackware (I've been a Redhat flavor guy for a while) so bear with me.

Install was a breeze (except for the past 2 hours I just spent configuring my xorg.conf file), but I have a question: When I open a Terminal after starting x it says bash2.05b$, how do I get it to say something like user@laptop home/docs$ ?

Basically, I like knowing which directory I'm in and who is logged on (aside from the $ or #).

Thanks!

It happens when you are not in a login shell, this is the default prompt with bash.

You have more than one way to fix that, up to you :

Add ' source /etc/profile ' in a ~/.bashrc file (you can type this command in a terminal directly to see)

Or try a switch option for your terminal that tell it to open a login shell (-ls with xterm and Konsole)
