system media


Why can't approach storage media?
When I try it give me an error:

open kcontrol
KDE Control Settings

look for system>Services
enable KDE Media Manager

if it doesnt fix it do you have hald installed and running?

What is hald? I'm newbie...

why do you slackware then

even i'm not game enough to try it


Hald is the tool that automatically loads and unloads hardware
Plu and Play equivilant

runiing from a command line
/etc/init.d/hald start

should start it

sorry can't help much more
you'll need someone that knows SlackWare to help you install and set up HAL Hardware Daemon
