syslogd logging questsion
hi all,
I have a sftp only server set up using rssh to jail users to chrooted drive. I went have installed a patch to openssh to enable sftp logging and have set the log location to reside on the chrooted drive under dev/log no logging is taking place at that location, but the log file is being created at start up- weird... i was wondering if why there is an "=" sign behind the file log, and what the "s" means in front of the listing. Here, take a look: plan9@mingus:~$ ls -la /home/pokey/dev total 8 drwxr-x--- 2 plan9 users 4096 Sep 1 13:56 ./ drwxr-x--- 8 plan9 users 4096 Aug 20 09:23 ../ srw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Sep 1 13:56 log= plan9@mingus:~$ thanks, plan9 |
Well I don't know if I can answer all of your questions but the s in the first position of the file permissions indicates that it is a socket.
