Sync software

Hi all,

I'm looking for some software which I can use to sync files and folders on two seperate disks.

In short, I want to backup my laptops home folder to a USB hard drive. Rather than doing a full copy (100Gb+), I just want to copy the files that have changed or been added.

Can anyone make any recommendations?

My system is Slack 10.2 with 2.6.19.

Many thanks,

Mark.

I've used this before:

http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/

Very nice only syncs changes to files/directories. It's created by the Samba team and has been around for awhile.

Also read up on the second article here: http://www.linuxworld.com/news/2006/100606-iaq.html - this is what you need.

using rsync. it is very powerful. I use it to syncronize with my windows file server. If you familiar the option, it work like windows offline files.

Hi guys,

I think rsync is clearly the way to go.

Thanks for replying,

Mark.
