Synaptics driver not loading after kernel upgrade
I had the synaptics driver working fine using kernel 19 in slackware 12. I had gone to 19 because I could not get my laptop to boot on 21 with smp on my laptop.
Now I am trying a 23 kernel and I have lost synaptics support. I have recompiled synaptics and (CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2) and (CONFIG_INPUT_EVDEV) are enabled as modules. The log shows. (II) Synaptics touchpad driver version 0.14.6 (1406) Touchpad no synaptics event device found (checked 18 nodes) (**) Option "Device" "/dev/psaux" (**) Option "SHMConfig" "on" (**) Option "LeftEdge" "1700" (**) Option "RightEdge" "5300" (**) Option "TopEdge" "1700" (**) Option "BottomEdge" "4200" (**) Option "FingerLow" "25" (**) Option "FingerHigh" "30" (**) Option "MaxTapTime" "40" (**) Option "MaxTapMove" "220" (**) Option "VertScrollDelta" "100" Query no Synaptics: 6003C8 (EE) Touchpad no synaptics touchpad detected and no repeater device (EE) Touchpad Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware.
