synaptic touchpad config
does anyone have a proper touchpad config for a thinkpad (t410s)?
I just study the options for synclient and the synaptic man page and fear that I become old till I have played and tested through all options.
Or does someone know hat I have to install that I have the config gui what for example openSUSE has in it's KDE installation?

I can't give you a spot-on advise as I don't use my T61's touchpad but you could have a look here and there if not already done.

EDIT. But first do this as root:

cp /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50.synaptics.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
After determining the appropriate settings you will write it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50.synaptics.conf. Read the comments in that file first.

The above was sufficient to have a properly working touchpad on my T410s.

I use the 50.synaptics.conf and also read the manuals

I miss 2 settings so far.

1) be able to scroll using the trackpoint and the middle button

2) on the windows installation, which has been removed :-), the trackpad was disabled until a longer/harder finger press.
this option is very useful to avoid unwanted mouse movements while typing if touching the touchpad by accident.

I played around with various options of synclient for a longer while but was total unsuccessful

If anyone knows how to activate these settings, help is welcome
